COA

I propose we catch the tube to Westminister Station which is situated in Portculis House ( 1 ). It is unclear if a tour will be available but it may be worth trying to view thw central atrium andthe House of Commons contemporary portrait collection. Then cross over to Parliament Square to admire Big Ben ( 2 ) and then on to the a pre-booked tour of the Palace of Westminster. ( 3 ) Summer Opening Tours are available between Tuesday and Saturday from 9.15am - 4.30pm between: 31st July and 31st August.

We then walk down to the Victoria Tower Gardens to inspect Rodin's famous statue of the Burgers of Calais. ( 4 ) Accross St Margaret Street is the The Jewel Tower. ( 5 ) ( we need to try and pre-book tickets to the exhibition. )

After lunch we walk up the Victoria Embankment past Westminster Bridge, past Hungerford Bridge to Cleopatra's Needle. ( 6 ) Then past Waterloo Bridge and on to The Courtauld Gallery ( 7 ) which is located at Somerset House. ( This is one of Doug's must see places in London. ). Exit Somerset House to The Strand and walk down to to the Savoy Hotel. ( 8 ) Here we can consider having afternoon tea and investgate having lunch here on our Departure Day.
